SAN FRANCISCO-Pomegranit Editorial, San Francisco, has added three new members to its editorial and design team: editor Kerie Kimbrell, senior motion graphics designer Brandon Martinez, and motion graphics designer Lesa Herrera.
The company has also announced the departure of co-founder Doug Werby. According to Pomegranit partner/editor Mitra Tyree, Werby exited the company to pursue a directorial career.
Prior to joining Pomegranit, Kimbrell had been an editor in the commercial division of Industrial Light+Magic Commercial Productions, San Rafael, Calif., where her clients included Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York; BBDO Chicago; and Euro RSCG DSW Partners, Salt Lake City. Kimbrell had begun her career as assistant editor for Godfather III, through Francis Ford Coppola’s production company, American Zoetrope, Henry and June for director Phillip Kaufman, and The War of the Roses for 20th Century Fox. Kimbrell has already cut spots for Coca-Cola via Doner, Southfield, Mich., and internet service Direct Web via THINK New Ideas, Los Angeles.
Martinez will head Pomegranit’s design department. He will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating graphic design content and will supervise projects through final online. Most recently, he had worked independently for San Francisco Niketown, and as a designer/director for Sony, Mazda, and OM Records, San Francisco. He also freelanced last year as a designer at Montgomery Cobb, Los Angeles.
Herrera will team with Martinez to expand the company’s design department. She was most recently with l.inc. Design, San Rafael, Calif., where she was a junior motion graphics designer, and had worked with ZDTV, CNET, and McCann-Erickson, San Francisco.
