THE SPOTS
Two :30s promote the release of the HBO series Oz, on DVD and VHS. In "Jaywalking," a man waits for the light to change to red, despite the fact that the street is desolate. He checks out the "Don’t Walk" sign and steps off the curb, when suddenly his mind flashes to prison-riot footage and various scenes from the series Oz. The man catches himself and steps backwards and onto the curb, as he waits for the sign to give him permission to walk. "Newspaper" opens on a man accidentally grabbing two papers from a vending machine. As he looks down at both copies of the Daily Gazette, he conjures up images of prison life as seen on Oz. The man hurries back to the machine and pays to return one newspaper. Both spots end with the tag, "Eight straight hours of Oz. It’ll make you think twice."
Spots broke March 11.
