McCann-Erickson, San Francisco, has named Michael Furlong senior VP/creative director, and Matthew Winks executive producer. Furlong had been freelancing with the agency following the closure of his previous employer, Lowe Lintas & Partners, San Francisco. Winks was a staff producer at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, for six years.
Also in San Francisco, Kevin McCarthy has become executive creative director at Grey, as well as chief creative director for Grey Direct, the agency’s direct response division. Most recently he was partner/CEO at Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners, San Francisco.
In Chicago, Campbell Mithun has begun a search for a chief creative to replace John Hurst. Hurst joins McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, London, Sept. 1, as senior VP/creative director on multinational accounts for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Steve Levit, VP/creative partner of Lunch Advertising, Los Angeles, is leaving to freelance as a creative and commercial director.
Steve Olshansky and Sonny Lufrano have been appointed copywriters at Oasis, New York. Previously they were copywriters at, respectively, Deutsch New York and Publicis Dialog, New York.
Tom Mullen has joined Philadelphia agency Tierney DeGregorio, a division of Tierney Communications, as VP/associate creative director.
Joining 180, Amsterdam, is Richard Bullock. He comes over from Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, where he was a senior copywriter.
The Many Hires Jeremiah Wassom As Group Creative Director
Independent agency The Many has added Jeremiah Wassom as group creative director.
Wassom most recently worked a decade at Deutsch LA where, as SVP/creative director, he led the Taco Bell account and won new business for the agency. His agency past also includes AKQA and TBWAChiatDay. His creative work has touched the QSR, video games, automotive, fashion, and culture brand sectors. He also served eight years with the United States Marine Corps.
