Media industry veteran and entrepreneur Patrick Vien has been appointed president of Pulse Films. His broad media experience in the U.S. and internationally makes him well placed to further Pulse’s global growth into non-scripted television and channel creation, in addition to its other core business sectors: branded entertainment, film and commercials. Based in New York, Vien will report to Pulse CEO Thomas Benski.
With over 25 years in the television, music and digital sectors, Vien previously held top-level positions at NBC Universal (president, Global TV Networks) where he oversaw a wide portfolio of TV channel brands across over 30 countries, and Warner Music International (WMI) where (as chairman and CEO) he was responsible for overseeing the management and transformation of WMI’s 50 labels. As an entrepreneurial executive, Vien also launched and ran two U.S. cable network start-ups. Most recently, Vien served as president and COO at Bankable Enterprises, overseeing all commercial activities for Tyra Banks.
Vien is joining Pulse in the midst of a rapid growth phase. He will provide strong leadership in the expansion of their TV businesses in the UK and US and the planned launch of online channels. He will be working in partnership with Benski who will continue to focus on the creative and strategic growth of the business.
