Ted Pauly of Furlined directed this video advocating that the naming system of storms be changed from randomly selected names (i.e., Katrina, Sandy) to the names of actual policy makers who deny climate change. Designed to increase awareness of climate change and its link to extreme storms, the initiative–at ClimateNameChange.org–is being championed by activist group 350 Action which is petitioning the World Meteorological Organization to revise the naming system.
The video features prominent climate deniers like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), attaching their names to storms and destruction. Created by ad agency Barton F. Graf 9000, the campaign features extensive facts about climate change, voting records of climate change deniers and obstructionists and more ways to get involved and help spread the news.
