    New board set for Cinema Audio Society

    At the recent 54th CAS Awards, president Mark Ulano announced the results of the board of directors elections for the Cinema Audio Society.  With a breadth and depth of experience in the field of sound, the board represents a cross-section of production and postproduction sound professionals.   

    The CAS officers are: re-elected incumbents VP Phillip W. Palmer CAS and secretary David J. Bondelevitch CAS. The terms for president (Mark Ulano CAS) and treasurer (Peter Damski CAS) were not up for election.

    The incumbent CAS board of directors (production) that were re-elected are: Willie Burton CAS, and Glen Trew CAS.  Incumbent board members (postproduction) who were reelected are: Tom Fleischman CAS and Sherry Klein, CAS and they will be joined by newly elected board members Marti Humphrey CAS and Doc Kane CAS  who will be taking the seats of outgoing board members Jeff Haboush CAS and Tomlinson Holman CAS. Continuing to serve as their terms were not up for reelection are: for production, Peter Devlin CAS, Chris Newman CAS, Lee Orloff CAS, Lisa Pinero CAS, and Jeffrey Wexler CAS.–and for postproduction, Bob Bronow CAS, Karol Urban CAS, Steve Venezia CAS and Mathew Waters CAS. 

    The new board was installed at the 54th Annual CAS Awards that were held Saturday, February 24, in Los Angeles.

    Producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher To Receive Harold Lloyd Award From The Advanced Imaging Society

    Producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher will be presented with the 2025 Harold Lloyd Award in recognition of their producing achievement in creating Gladiator II at The Advanced Imaging Society’s (AIS) 15th annual Lumiere Awards luncheon, which takes place Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

    Empowering their storytelling with groundbreaking technology and skill, Wick and Fisher have thrilled audiences and driven the film industry forward for three decades. Their steadfast dedication to the highest standards of cinematic excellence have resulted in epic films, including Memoirs of a Geisha, The Great Gatsby, the Stuart Little franchise, the Divergent Series and both Gladiator films. The first Gladiator earned Wick an Academy Award® for Best Picture. In light of their consistent and distinguished contributions over the years, as exemplified by this year’s Gladiator II, the Advanced Imaging Society wished to recognize the team with this year’s esteemed Harold Lloyd Award.
