Gerry Stoll, an editor/graphic designer for 15 years, has joined Napoleon’s in-house division Code FX, New York. This graphics and editorial unit was launched three months ago, under the aegis of senior 3-D graphic designer Cavin Thuring.
"I’ve wanted Gerry to work for me for many years," related Marty Napoleon, owner/creative director of the company (formerly Napoleon Art & Productions) that bears his name. The two first met at National Video Center, New York, in 1983 when Stoll joined the company as editor, while Napoleon headed up Napoleon Art & Productions, then a division of National.
Napoleon added that’s Stoll’s "long history" would be an asset to Code FX. "He knows Flame, Editbox, After Effects. He’s well rounded, from the old school. That’s something you don’t seem to find anymore," Napoleon noted.
Before joining Code FX, Stoll spent two years at PrinczCo Productions, New York, also as editor/graphic designer. He’s credited there with compositing for Sprite’s "Movie Makers" via Lowe Lintas & Partners, New York; and with the online edit and design for Business Week’s "Internet" via Draft Worldwide, New York. "I like to keep each job unique; I’m a problem-solver," observed Stoll.
Prior to PrinczCo, Stoll freelanced in the same capacity for FOX News Channel, New York. In his three years there, he completed such in-house promos as "Power" and "Television and the Presidency." Before joining PrinczCo, Stoll spent five years at now defunct Limelite Video, also as editor/graphic designer.
At Code FX, Stoll joins Thuring, graphic designer Marc Boutges, and graphic designer/illustrator Angelo Martinez. The division is repped nationally by Mark Leo, head of sales for Napoleon.
