Havas Chicago has named Myra Nussbaum as its chief creative officer. She takes the creative helm alongside Havas Chicago president Nikki Laughlin, adding to an executive leadership team in Chicago that’s majority female. Nussbaum becomes the first female CCO within Havas’ North American network.
“With our focus on operating as strategic business partners to our clients, we need an integrated leadership team that brings its collective superpowers to the table in close collaboration to meet business KPIs—and Myra’s approach to creative takes those objectives into consideration,” said Laughlin, who also oversees Annex Chicago and Annex Experience. “In addition to being one of the most fearless creatives I’ve seen in the industry, focusing on the passion behind a creative idea, Myra always considers the business goals when creating work that’s driven by culture. Nussbaum comes from Leo Burnett Chicago, where she was executive creative director. Prior to that, she served as SVP, group creative director, at DDB Chicago. As a culture-obsessed child of MTV and Apple, Nussbaum brings a creative vision is in step with the zeitgeist of the time. She also brings more than 15 years worth of experience. From helping colorblind people see color for the first time, to supporting the biggest product launch in KFC history, Nussbaum’s work has created emotional connections while significantly impacting business for brands such as Mars, Molson Coors, KFC, Kmart, SC Johnson, Dow, Valspar and Ford. Nussbaum has been celebrated by top advertising award shows including Cannes, Clio, D&AD and The One Show. Her creative campaigns have been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Wired, TODAY and many other media outlets. Part Gen X, part Millennial, she is experienced in almost every platform, believing that a good idea will translate to any medium.

Changes Afoot For Cannes Lions 2025, Including Increasing Festival Access For Underserved Communities
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is putting plans in motion for its 72nd edition, set to take place from June 16-20, 2025 in Cannes, France. The Festival has announced that it will double funding to provide €2m (some $2,150,000) worth of complimentary passes to underrepresented talent and underserved communities through its Equity, Representation and Accessibility (ERA) Pass, returning for a second year.
Frank Starling, chief DEI officer, Lions, said the increased investment was “crucial to continue to drive progress for both Cannes Lions and the industry.” Starling added, “The ERA pass plays an important role in fostering a global representation of talent within the creative communications industry at Cannes Lions, and to date our funded opportunities have reached creatives in 46 countries globally. With the Festival being the destination for everyone in the business of creativity, we recognize the importance of creating equitable access to it, and this is why we’re prioritizing increased representation from the Global South to support a greater range of voices and perspectives from the region at the Festival.” Applications for the ERA pass are open now and close on December 5, 2025.
