LOS ANGELES-Milk & Honey Production Services (MHPS), Los Angeles, has formed an alliance with the production services division of First City Features, a London entertainment company headed by producers Martin Bruce-Clayton and David Kelly. Milk & Honey gains a production foothold in the U.K. while First City can access production services from MHPS’ offices in Los Angeles, Prague, Mexico City, Canada and Moscow.
"Production in all realms has grown increasingly global, with Los Angeles and London serving as economic centers," related Howard Woffinden, executive producer of MHPS. "Our alliance with First City is a reciprocity of shared goals and interests through which we’ll deepen our network, contacts and services."
Bruce-Clayton added, "First City will provide Milk & Honey with a strong presence in London. In turn, Milk & Honey will provide First City’s American-based production services clients with local support, one-on-one contact and deeper services via Milk & Honey’s state-of-the-art Internet communication system."
Launched in ’96, MHPS is a division of Milk & Honey Films, an L.A.-headquartered company which includes long form division Milk & Honey Pictures (MHP). Via its global network of production services, MHPS has orchestrated commercial shoots for such advertisers as Skittles through DMB&B, St. Louis, and Maytag for Leo Burnett Co., Chicago. MHPS has also facilitated telefilm shoots for Paramount Television. Meanwhile, MHP is developing a feature based on singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen’s cult novel Beautiful Losers and has produced several shows for Buena Vista Home Video. Milk & Honey Films was founded by exec. producers Woffinden and Tomas Krejci, and partner Greg Gold.
Formed in ’91, First City develops creative content and provides U.K. production services. The firm has handled features and commercial shoots throughout England. Its spot clientele includes IBM produced by PYTKA, Venice, for Ogilvy & Mather, New York, and Mobil Oil produced by bicoastal HKM Productions via DDB New York.
