After 10 years as a San Francisco-based operation, Michael Boyd Music (MBM) has gone bicoastal, with the launch of a New York studio. Composer/creative director Michael Boyd and his wife, executive producer Gabrielle Doré, will anchor the new location.
"Some clients like to start shooting in San Francisco and finish in New York, or vice versa. [Being bicoastal] gives clients that flexibility," said Boyd.
As part of the expansion effort, Boyd has also promoted composer Hector Perez to creative director, and hired in-house producer/studio manager Savoy Hallinan, both based at the San Francisco office. They will handle the day-to-day operations when the bosses are East.
Perez has been with the company since ’91, starting as second engineer. His credits include co-scoring (with Boyd) Janus Funds’ "Sprinkler" and "Manhole" via FCB, San Francisco; Women.com’s "Queen" via Citron Haligman Bedecarré, San Francisco; and Jeep’s "Avalanche" via FCB Worldwide, Southfield, Mich. Perez graduated in ’94 from the University of California, at Berkeley, with a B.A. in music and audio technology.
Hallinan was most recently at FCB, San Francisco, where she was creative services manager for three months. Before FCB, she spent two years in the same role at Young & Rubicam, San Francisco, for the Sony, Adobe and Novell accounts.
MBM’s representation is handled exclusively by Doré.
