Director Maggie Zackheim has joined Good Films, New York, for exclusive commercial representation in the U.S. Her prior stateside affiliations include now defunct Headquarters, and prior to that, bicoastal HKM Productions and the since closed Satellite.
The New York-based Zackheim is perhaps best known for her work in comedy, spanning both sides of the Atlantic. Among her recent work are several U.K. entries such as Lipton Cup-A-Soup out of DLKW, London, Nestle Lion Cereal for Saatchi & Saatchi, London, and Selfridge’s department stories via Mother, London. Her U.S. spot credits include work for AT&T, Avis and Coors.
Zackheim broke into commercial directing at Satellite in 1999, after having come up the ranks at MTV where she eventually got the chance to helm projects. She later created and directed a 10-episode series, VH1 Random Play, which ran during the ’00 season. Her advertising career developed at Satellite, part of the Propaganda family of companies. When Propaganda fell by the wayside in late ’01, she wound up landing at the aforementioned HKM in ’02, and then Headquarters in late ’03.
She now joins a Good directorial roster that consists of Andrew Walton, Margee Challa and Lance Weiler. Repping Good are independents Schafler Artists Management on the East Coast, Maureen Butler in the Midwest, Yvette Represents on the West Coast, and Asprodites Reps in the Southeast.

The interview was conducted by ACE president and editor Sabrina Plisco, ACE who also moderated the live panel discussion. Kerstein said that he was the beneficiary of brilliant and generous collaborators, citing, among others, director Jon M. Chu, cinematographer Alice Brooks, and visual effects supervisor Pablo Helman. The editor added it always helps to have stellar acting performances, noting that hearing Cynthia Erivo, for example, sing live was a revelation. Kerstein recalled meeting Chu some eight years ago on a “blind Skype date” and it was an instant “bromance”--which began on Crazy Rich Asians, and then continued on such projects as the streaming series Home Before Dark and the feature In The Heights. Kerstein observed that Chu is expert in providing collaborators with... Read More
