Ridley Scott Creative Group has named Luke Ricci to its global leadership team as president, RSA Films, U.S.
An executive and producer with a prolific background in advertising and production, Ricci has worked on the agency and production company sides of the aisle, overseeing multiple award-winning productions and managing the careers of many of the industry’s most talented filmmakers. The hiring of Ricci was announced by Jake Scott, partner, Ridley Scott Creative Group, and director, RSA Films.
“When RSA celebrated 50 years of production, we had a rethink,” Scott said. “The entertainment landscape is evolving rapidly, and we need to further embrace new talent and new methods of production. We’re now more agile in global productions of all scale and we’re delighted to welcome Luke Ricci to our leadership team as we forge the future of RSA.”
Prior to joining RSA, Ricci served as president and executive producer of production company Bullitt, founded by The Russo Brothers and Justin Lin, where he facilitated Bullitt’s union with The Directors Bureau, founded by Roman Coppola. In this role Ricci oversaw the rosters, sales, production and business operations for both companies. He was also co-founder, president and CEO of branded entertainment agency Superconductor.
Ricci takes over the leadership role at RSA Films, U.S., earlier held by David Mitchell whose title was managing director of RSA Films, U.S. Mitchell departed RSA last September and went on to be a founder of production company Wild Gift which launched earlier this year.
Over his career Ricci has worked with an esteemed list of directors including: The Russo Brothers, Justin Lin, Sofia Coppola, Roman Coppola, Peyton Reed, Rodrigo Saavedra, Julian Acosta, Augustus Punch, Keith Schofield, Ruben Fleischer, Jody Hill, Jonathan Kriesel, Louis Leterrier, Eric Andre, M Blash, Melodie McDaniel, Emmanuel Adjei and Larry Charles.
“It is a huge honor and responsibility to join the leadership of RSA to help lead it into its next evolutionary phase, and I’m absolutely thrilled,” Ricci said. “I’m very proud of what I accomplished at Bullitt, Superconductor and The Directors Bureau and grateful for the collaborations with The Russos, Justin and Roman.”
“I am incredibly excited that Luke is joining,” commented RSA global managing director Kai Hsiung. “We’ve taken the past year as a good time to take stock and move the company forward for 2022. Luke’s attributes and experience are second to none and our ambitions for RSA tie in with his wealth of knowledge.”
With offices in London, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Greater China, The Ridley Scott Creative Group of companies includes RSA Films, Black Dog Films, Scott Free Productions and Darling Films, and facilitates moving image and photography productions for all mediums.
