THE SPOTS
Three :30s in Virgin Mobile’s "Morality" campaign show young people seeking the advice of authority figures to gain the higher truth about telecommunications companies that overcharge patrons and lock contracts. In "Rabbi," a young man asks a rabbi to define "kosher" and then asks if a company that "sticks you with an extra ten bucks you weren’t expecting" is kosher. "I don’t think that’s really an issue of kosher," replies the rabbi. The boy asks if it’s cool, to which the rabbi answers, "No, it’s not cool." In "Pastor," a woman asks a priest what happens to companies that don’t go to heaven. And in "Buddhist," a man does some high-level searching about the meaning of good and bad deeds, with respect to cellular phone companies. The commercials conclude with the tag line, "Pay as you go. Live without a plan." The Chosen Gospel Singers’ "I’m Going Back with Him" is featured at the conclusion of each ad.
