Sewra G. Kidane, formerly of Raw Talent, New York, has been upped to editor at Blue Rock Editing Company, New York. Raw Talent is a division of Blue Rock that handles up-and-coming editors.
Kidane joined Raw Talent as an assistant editor in 1998, and has worked on commercials for clients such as Ames, Pantene, Lever 2000 and Kleenex. Additionally, she has cut music videos for Maxwell, Room Service and Joey John. The editor started in postproduction as an apprentice, then assistant editor, at Blue Rock. While an assistant at Blue Rock, she worked closely with editor Peter Klaus on several projects, including a spot package for Salomon Smith Barney. In addition to cutting commercials, Kidane hopes to continue working on music videos.
Kidane joins a Blue Rock roster of Avid editors which includes Steve Bodner, Michael Charles, David Cornman, Lenny Friedman, Maciek Godlewski, Ilene Hochman, Reb Kessler, Peter Klaus, Laura Milstein, Richard Morse, Brent Prince, Oren Sarch, Nico Sheers, Chip Smith, Gregg Suskin, Elaine Volpe, Oliver Wicki and bicoastal editors Sylvette Artinian and Sloane Klevin, all of whom are repped by company president Ethel Rubinstein and Blue Rock head of sales Corey Fenstermacher.
