The American Society of Cinematographers has elected cinematographer Victor J. Kemper president of the Los Angeles-based organization.
He served as ASC president from 1991 to 96, and was presented with the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award last year.
Kempers first narrative film credit was the 1970 Husbands, directed by John Cassavetes. Kemper is currently completing principal photography for the CBS miniseries Too Rich: The Secret Life of Doris Duke. His feature film credits also include Dog Day Afternoon, Pee-wees Big Adventure and Tommy Boy.
Other new ASC appointments are: Steven B. Poster, first VP; Laszlo Kovacs, second VP; Russell Carpenter, third VP; Howard Anderson, junior treasurer; John Hora, secretary; and Dean Cundey, sergeant-at-arms.
