GUT has hired executive creative directors for its New York and Los Angeles offices.
John Hansa has been named ECD at GUT Los Angeles while John Parker joins as the first ever ECD at GUT New York.
Hansa got his start as a copywriter and then became creative director at Leo Burnett working on a variety of accounts including Miller Lite, Kelloggโs, Allstate Insurance, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble and McDonaldโs. He then left Leo Burnett to help stand up McDonaldโs bespoke agency We Are Unlimited as ECD, then continued running the McDonaldโs family business at DDB Chicago in the same capacity, while also leading creative on Hefty/Reynolds and Orkin Pest Control. He has won Cannes Lions, Effies, D&AD Pencils, One Show Pencils, and Clios.
Parker has more than 20 years of experience creating ads for assorted brands including ESPN, Delta, Bud Light, Keurig, Heinz, Air Jordan, Silk, Nissan, Hilton, Google, VW, MINI, Verizon, GAP, IKEA, and Burger King. He most recently served as ECD at Havas and prior to that was a freelance creative director working with agencies like Deutsch, FCB, R/GA, the community and TBWAChiat/Day. He also was a creative director at Wieden+Kennedy, and an art director at Crispin Porter+Bogusky. His portfolio includes 10 Super Bowl commercials, the Bud Light โDilly Dillyโ cultural phenomenon, a 12-foot bronze statue at Lincoln Financial Field, viral TikTok challenges, and even a cure for jet lag. His work has been celebrated by The New York Times, CNN, 60 Minutes, The Today Show, Good Morning America, and has even hung on the walls of MOMA in New York. He has received awards from major industry competitions, including multiple Cannes Lions and the $100,000 Kelly Grand Prize.
