Creative editorial and finishing shop utopic has promoted Jill DiBiase to creative editor. She has been with the company as a sr. assistant editor since 23013 working first alongside editors Tim Kloehn and Jan Maitland.
“Our editors are really collaborative and being here has enabled me to see how everyone works and how they approach their craft. The experience of learning different techniques and styles from each editor that I can then use in my own work has been wonderful,” said DiBiase, who has worked on numerous high profile campaign and long form projects over the past two years for such clients as Kraft, Secret, Firestone, NRG, nationwide and H&R Block.
Recently she worked with creative editor Suzie Moore on a complex project for Nissan, cutting a series of large format films entitled The Red Thread, which is Nissan’s centerpiece for the 2015-2016 Tier One Worldwide Auto Show and will play in eight major cities around the world. DiBiase also worked closely with creative editor Katherine Pryor on The Enduring Bond, a collection of live-action films created for Porsche through Cramer-Krasselt.
In addition to cutting broadcast spots, web content and social films, DiBiase has edited several indie features including Open Tables, a largely improvised comedy directed by Chicago-based director Jack Newell that screened last October at the Chicago Film Festival. She also edited Typing, which was chosen to screen at Cannes in the Short Film Corner category in 2011.
Currently she is cutting the full length documentary Tough Guys for directors Henry Roosevelt and W.B. Zullo out of MinusL Productions. She is also editing a series of social films for Firestone.
