Swiss director Ivo Wejgaard has signed with commercial production company IDENTITY for representation in the U.S. Wejgaard specializes in working with international beauty and lifestyle brands, including Lancome, L’OrĂ©al, Laura Biagiotti, 4711, Reebok, Olay, Nivea, s.Oliver, Palmers, Olympus and Ponds, and with talent that includes Julianne Moore, Lucy Liu and Freida Pinto, and international models Heidi Klum, Natasha Poly, Barbara Palvin and Ana Beatriz Barros.
Internationally, Wejgaard is signed with QUAD Productions in France and Fresh Film Production in the U.K. He is currently based in Switzerland, with future plans to move to Los Angeles to continue directing commercial and feature film projects in the U.S.
Drawing on his creative experience in photography, music and writing, Wejgaard has produced a portfolio of work that is as compelling visually as it is narratively. Using an artistically aesthetic combination of stunning shot compositions, choreographed camera movements, stylized tabletop effects and fluid shot montages, Wejgaard’s vision is achieved with frequent collaborator, DP Pascal Walder. Walder and Wejgaard have worked together for over 20 years and will continue their professional partnership at IDENTITY.
“My work is about trying to create something unique and showing every action in new and innovative ways that haven’t been seen before,” said Wejgaard who earlier in his career was handled by Saville Productions for commercials in the U.S. “It’s creatively challenging to discover new ways to capture beauty, and it’s my passion to try and create magic.”
Alana Hearn, partner and executive producer at IDENTITY, said, “Ivo’s keen eye for capturing beauty, action and raw emotion results in visually stunning work, His work makes a lasting impression and is immediately recognizable.”
Wejgaard’s first feature film, The Inexplicable Tale of the Girl in the Feather Jacket, is an emotionally-charged, dark fairytale scheduled for release in 2019. Filmed in Thailand and cast with two young Thai actors, Wejgaard directed and wrote the screenplay of the poetic art-house film.
