THE SPOTS
A package of spots features the members of the popular boy band ‘Nsync. In "Island" (:40/:30/:15s) the boys are shown marooned on an empty beach. Suddenly each begins singing, "I want my baby back," which leads the viewer to assume they are crooning for a lost love. A helicopter flies overhead and, in answer to their pleas, drops a food shipment that lands directly on Joey Fatone. It is then revealed that the group was pining for Chili’s baby back ribs. "Obsession" (:30/:15) takes place inside a recording studio, with the band members being interviewed sans Justin Timberlake. They appear to be divulging a secret obsession over which Timberlake has hit rock bottom. The scene cuts to the group during a recording session in which Timberlake begins singing, "I want my baby back ribs," which culminates in one of the ‘Nsync-ers ripping off his headset in disgust, because the "obsession" is for baby back ribs.
Spots broke in late January.
