THE SPOTS
Three :30s highlight the career opportunities offered by the U.S. Air Force and feature the tagline, "Cross into the Blue." "Tornado" opens on a cloudy and windy farm that is about to encounter a tornado. A young girl standing outside the home watches the menacing funnel in awe as her father picks her up and carries her to safety. "We’ve been waiting for you," states the onscreen type. Cut to the girl as a young woman working on a space shuttle as a mission specialist, reporting weather patterns. "Food" shows a young man walking through a high school cafeteria collecting unwanted food items from his classmates. Eventually, the boy heads outside and hands the food to a homeless man sitting on the street. Fast forward to his career: a loadmaster for the Air Force. And in "Cops," a patrol car appears to be on the lookout for criminals. The vehicle cruises up to a group of teenage boys, and a policeman shines his spotlight on them, causing all the boys except one to disperse. The boy heads over to the vehicle and leans in—it turns out the officer’s computer has crashed again and he has been looking for this boy to tell him how to fix it. The boy is later shown as an airborne operations technician for the U.S. Air Force.
"Food" and "Cops" broke in September. "Tornado" began airing in October.
