THE SPOTS
Six :30s—"Made in America," "Imports," "Adrenaline," "Intensity," "Purity" and "Distribution Center"—relate how the sport of hockey is truly an American game. Each spot takes place in a factory that produces the intangible values and overall essence of hockey prior to being "shipped" all over America. "Made in America" features worker Stan, who sets up the campaign by explaining why hockey is truly an American sport. "Imports" shows another factory employee who, with the help of Sergei Fedorov of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, illustrates the importance and contribution of immigrants in the NHL. In "Adrenaline," Howard ensures that there’s a healthy dose of adrenaline in every batch of hockey that the factory produces. "Intensity" features an intensity inspector telling viewers that every game of hockey is a fight mentally, as well as physically. In "Purity," two purity inspectors suggest that they have the most important jobs at the factory, as Jean-Sebastien Giguere of the Ducks gives them a look that reminds the duo that arrogance is a trait frowned upon in hockey. And "Distribution Center" focuses on a shipping manager who gives viewers a tour of the loading docks from which hockey is shipped all across the U.S. Each commercial ends with the tagline, "The NFL on ESPN. Made in America. Delivered on Thursday."
