Production company Derby has signed live action directing, shooting and editing team Michael Bozzo and Justine Warwick, aka The Bozzwicks.
The duo has created branded content, documentaries, and commercial fare for brands, networks and agencies across varied platforms, with an extensive body of work in the sports category for the likes of HBO, Showtime, NBC Sports, and Sports Illustrated. It’s from this experience that The Bozzwicks honed their ability to discover and bring the larger stories behind the games to life–the challenges, the triumphs, the failures and the drama. This passion for authentic, emotionally driven storytelling has fueled their creative approach in many categories with work for such clients as Delta, Red Bull, NBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel, T-Brand, Epix, Beyonce, David Yurman and Yuengling.
Director and cinematographer Bozzo developed his skills as a DP while traveling the globe. Director and editor Warwick cultivated her command of storytelling over the past 17 years in cutting rooms with work spanning short and long-form content.
The Bozzwicks join Derby from Big Block, where they worked with Derby executive producer Mary Crosse. While there, The Bozzwicks and Crosse collaborated on a long-form documentary brand video for Yuengling, featuring a cinematic story of the family and the brewery.
The Bozzwicks join Derby’s directorial roster which includes Lucas Borrás, Nickolas Duarte and the recently signed Andrew Hardaway. Since its launch last fall, Derby has produced campaigns for General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, S’well, Blistex, NestlePurina, Jim Beam Brands, and Erno Laszlo, among others.
The Many Hires Jeremiah Wassom As Group Creative Director
Independent agency The Many has added Jeremiah Wassom as group creative director.
Wassom most recently worked a decade at Deutsch LA where, as SVP/creative director, he led the Taco Bell account and won new business for the agency. He also served eight years with the United States Marine Corps.
“Throughout his career, Jeremiah has helmed work that has not only made me personally jealous but has consistently pushed brands to show up in memorable and innovative ways,” said Josh Paialii, head of creative at The Many. “One look at his body of work and you will see his passion for storytelling and craft has raised the bar for entire categories, driving participation with many brands’ most loyal fans. Beyond being a world-class creative director and maker, Wassom is a proven team player and strategic thought leader. He’ll be a great addition to the leadership team at The Many working across all accounts. His role will be immediately felt as he guides and supports each of the creative leads in the department.”
A 20-year creative with agency, brand, and freelance experience, Wassom has forged a creative approach which focuses on crafting engaging connections rather than simply make ads. He sees the need for advertising to mean more, not simply do more.
The Many believes that true business growth is made possible by harnessing the power of participation and partners with brands to forge deeper connections with consumers, cultivate trust and loyalty, and maximize marketing spend and execution.
