Someplace, an agency which launched in March 2024, has made its first creative director hires, bringing Kevin Steele and Pedro Izique aboard. In their new roles, Steele and Izique will be responsible for overseeing creative output, art and visual direction for the shopโs clients. Steele and Izique join after almost a decade-long run at Wieden+Kennedy Portland working as leaders on the global Nike account. At Someplace, the duo will serve under the direction of co-chief creative officers Ryan OโRourke and Alberto Ponte.
In his 14-plus years of experience, Steele has worked with brands such as ESPN, Adidas, NBA, and most notably Nike where he has spent the last eight-and-a-half years of his career working on the global Nike account at W+K. Steele has led campaigns like the Emmy nominated โBe Better,โ a film memorializing Kobe Bryant with Kendrick Lamar, Nikeโs 50th Anniversary bringing back Mars Blackmon directed by Spike Lee and the polarizing 2024 Nike Olympics campaign โAm I A Bad Person?โ voiced by Willem Dafoe.
Izique was hand-picked to be the head of art to open the Wieden+Kennedy Sรฃo Paulo office in 2010, where he stayed until he was invited to join the global Nike team in Portland. There he grew into a group creative director. Throughout his career, Izique has made iconic work including global campaigns like the 2014 Coca-Cola World Cup, The 2016 Euros short film starring Cristiano Ronaldo called โThe Switchโ, the โWant it Allโ Nike Basketball anthem, three separate Nike World Cup campaigns, as well as Nikeโs 50th Anniversary campaign starring Spike Lee, and multiple Olympics campaigns for Nike, including the latest, โAm I A Bad Person?โ.
Steele and Izique have been honored with numerous industry accolades including awards from Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Webbys, ANDYS, Clios and even an Emmy nomination.
