Music video studio Hound has launched with Missy Galanida and Isaac Rice as executive producers. The L.A.-based music video division of bicoastal production company Rabbit, Hound opens with a roster of 18 directors, including Cameron Duddy, Christopher Sims, Joseph Toman and Director X. Collectively, the directors on Hound’s roster have worked for recording artists Drake, Bruno Mars and Usher, among many others.
Hound’s first two projects are videos for pop star Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself,” directed by Alek Keshishian, and a music video/promo mix for Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, S.O.B. and the Beats Pill+ portable wireless speaker, from director Toman. In addition to producing music videos for A-list artists, Hound also features a commercial production arm.
Rabbit gains from the new company in that Galanida will also serve as EP at Rabbit which has also signed several of Hound’s directors for commercial representation, including Director X, Duddy and Sims. Several Rabbit directors also are part of the Hound music video lineup.
Galanida joins Hound from Hollywood-based production house DNA where she served as EP and directors’ representative for commercials and music videos. Fellow DNA vet Rice teams with Galanida at Hound as EP, having served as a directors’ rep on projects featuring artists such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Eminem, Green Day, and Alicia Keys.
“Hound is a breeding ground for young, standout talent from the music video world,” said Rabbit executive producer and partner Joby Barnhart. “Hound aims to bring new opportunities to directors coming up in music videos."
