Director Dugan O’Neal has signed with bicoastal production company Epoch Films for representation in the U.S. spanning commercials, branded content and music videos. O’Neal is an award-winning commercial, music video and television director/writer based in Los Angeles. His work combines bold, quirky comedy with a deft touch of cinema. Born on the Monterey Peninsula on the central coast of California, O’Neal is the son of rock-and-roll photographer Tom Gundelfinger and modern dancer Mollie O’Neal, and the grandson of famed cartoonist Frank O’Neal.
Dugan O’Neal got his start directing music videos for Ducksauce, HAIM, The Temper Trap, Chromeo, and The Glitch Mob, among many others. He has since helmed campaigns for the likes of Trojan, Belvedere, Bravo, Phillips, Jack Links, McDonald’s, KFC and Enterprise. Prior to joining the Epoch roster, O’Neal was handled in the ad arena by The Directors Bureau.
In the narrative space, O’Neal is a writer on the Adult Swim show Dream Corp LLC, executive produced by John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant. O’Neal is also currently developing an original pilot executive produced by Hiro Murai/Super Frog and is attached to direct a film chronicling the life of Vanilla Ice starring Dave Franco.
O’Neal is also currently on the board of directors for the non-profit group OMG Cameras Everywhere, started by a group of music video directors focused on teaching children the language of film, and how to make short films.

Music, audio post and sonic branding house Barking Owl has taken on exclusive representation of Oscar and Emmy-winning composer Kris Bowers for advertising and branded content.
Bowers’ recent film scores include The Wild Robot and Bob Marley: One Love, alongside acclaimed past works such as The Color Purple (2023), King Richard and Green Book. His contributions to television are equally impressive, with scores for hit series like Bridgerton, When They See Us, Dear White People, and his Daytime Emmy Award-winning score for The Snowy Day.
In addition to his work as a composer, Bowers is a visionary director. He recently took home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject for his directorial work on The Last Repair Shop. The emotionally touching short film spotlights four of the people responsible for repairing the musical instruments used by students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The Last Repair Shop reflects the positive influence that musical instruments have on the youngsters who play them, and the adults in the LAUSD free repair service who keep them working and in tune.
