THE SPOTS
Four :30s in KeySpan’s branding campaign "Where do you get your energy from?" feature witty vignettes which take a glimpse into the everyday lives of the company’s customers. In "Belch," a baby’s cry is heard throughout a peaceful suburban home. After dad adjusts the thermostat, he comforts the child, who lets out a distinctive burp and then quiets down. The voiceover states, "Gas is natural, clean and efficient. Gas is also quiet." In "Chef," a kitchen assistant gets his big chance when the head cook calls in sick. At his disposal are all the tools of the kitchen, including gas. His efforts pay off with a successful evening of well-received cuisine. In "No Heat," family members join Mom and Dad in their bed in an effort to huddle for warmth due to lack of heat. Eventually even Grandma makes her way into the room. And in "Couple Dancing," a senior duo enjoys an night at home, dancing the night away after igniting the gas fireplace. The ads all end with the tag line, "Putting more energy into life."
