Dan Duffy has joined production company Eleanor as managing director and executive producer. He comes over from Hungry Man where he had a long tenure, serving as an executive producer. Prior to coming aboard Hungry Man in 1998 as EP heading up its L.A. office, he was a producer at Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Ore.
Duffy’s industry journey of more than three decades has been recognized on the awards show circuit with Emmys, Lions and Palme d’Or distinction at Cannes, as well as involvement in work which earned DGA Award recognition.
Sophie Gold, president of Eleanor, said, “To me, Dan arriving is magic in the making. Not only does he bear an unparalleled pedigree, but his knack for seamless collaboration with agencies and talents is what truly caught my eye.”
One of Duffy’s career highlights was his role at W+K as an original producer for ESPN’s iconic, long-running “This is SportsCenter" campaign. Through this, he gained invaluable insights into both the agency and production facets of commercial filmmaking.
In his career, Duffy has witnessed the dynamic transformation of commercial production. As he gears up for a new chapter with Eleanor, he wishes for a future where “clients and agencies wholeheartedly embrace edgy, innovative ideas, pushing the boundaries of creative excellence.”
Duffy added, “Eleanor is exciting. The culture is really well defined here. I admire Sophie and what she has built with Eleanor. And I appreciate the approach Sophie has with the business–investing her time and heart into making success rather than just finding it. Eleanor is a powerhouse. A powerhouse with a strong roster and a fresh voice. I’m thrilled to get to be a part of this incredible journey.”
