Editor Steve Prestemon has joined L.A.-based editorial, sound and post company Therapy Studios. Prestemon, who had most recently been with Whitehouse Post for five years, has a body of work spanning commercials, documentary features, trailers and music videos.
Prestemon has received honors from the AICP Show, the AICE Awards and the Beldings, and his work has been shortlisted at Cannes. In just the last few years, he has cut high-profile spots for such brands as Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and Hyundai. Also to his credit is a multimedia campaign consisting of six short films and 19 television commercials created to highlight Target’s charitable giving and new environmental focus.
Prestemon has also edited the documentary features Wild In The Streets, SneakerHeadz (SXSW 2015), CodeGirl, and Meet the Hitlers. Currently, Prestemon is in the final stages of cutting the full-length documentary Westerly, co-directed by Alan White and Jamie Brisick.
“Steve brings a particular talent for music-driven visual storytelling, as well a distinct documentary style,” said Joe DiSanto, Therapy’s partner/executive producer.
Prestemon related, “I approach editing documentary features and commercials the same way. I zero in on the narrative, find the story, tease out the driving force.”
