Editor Bob Mori, formerly of Red Car in Santa Monica, has joined bicoastal Cosmo Street Editorial. Mori had been at Red Car for the past four years. During his career, Mori has collaborated with such directors as Rob Pritts, Kevin Smith and Don Rase of Backyard Productions, Venice, Calif., and Chicago, Jim Sonzero of bicoastal Venus Entertainment, Jake Scott from bicoastal RSA USA, Jeff Gorman of JGF, Hollywood, and Jeffery Plansker of bicoastal/international Propaganda Films.
At press time, Mori had already embarked on his first job under the Cosmo Street banner, a package of AirTouch spots directed by Noam Murro of bicoastal HKM Productions for Campbell Mithun Esty, Minneapolis. Mori also recently finished working on a Sonzero-directed short film, War of the Angels, which is slated to soon hit the independent film festival circuit.
Moris reel contains a range of storytelling, comedy and fashion. He got his start in Chicago, working at now defunct editorial boutique Edit Express. Then after a brief stint at Optimus, Chicago, he enjoyed a two-year tenure at since-closed Szabo-Tohtz Editing, Chicago. That was followed by a yearlong stay at now defunct Editel/Chicago. Mori then relocated to San Francisco where he cut as a freelancer before joining Red Car.
Mori rounds out a Cosmo Street/Santa Monica roster of editors that also includes Marc Barreiro, Ellen Crocker, Chan Hatcher, Kris Jenkins and Roeban Katz. The latter-who is also repped as a director via Visitor, Santa Monica-recently became a staffer at Cosmo Street after having freelanced for the firm. Katzs last staff affiliation prior to Cosmo Street was at Graying & Balding, Santa Monica. Meanwhile, Avi Oron is the resident editor at Cosmo Streets New York operation.
