Greenpoint Pictures, with bases of operation in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, has added directorial duo Ghost + Cow–consisting of John Carlucci and Brandon LaGanke–to its roster for U.S. representation. Ghost + Cow’s commercial and music video work has won numerous national and international awards, including Cannes Lions and One Show recognition. Ghost + Cow’s work has screened at film festivals including Slamdance and SXSW. The duo has directed for brands including McDonald’s, Home Depot, Holiday Inn, Johnnie Walker, and British Airways.
The duo started out making bizarre music videos and provocative short films, eventually evolving into directing commercials and branded content. Their work has been featured on multiple late night shows (headlined by Seth Meyers, Conan and Stephen Colbert). LaGanke made a splash back in 2014 when he earned a slot in SHOOT’s New Directors Showcase.
Ghost + Cow received a Silver Lion at the 2018 Cannes Lions for directing the campaign for Home Depot’s Pinterest partnership. Additional work includes “Drone Boning,” which became global news, dubbed as the “world’s first aerial pornography”; their “Thoughts & Prayers” sketch for Funny or Die which stars SNL’s Darrell Hammond; and most recently a short film/music video for the band Big Data, which just had its world premiere at the 2018 Telluride Horror Film Festival.
Michael Kuhn, Greenpoint Pictures’ founding partner, said, “I’ve known Ghost + Cow for a long time now, and our paths have continued to cross over the years. Their work is dynamic and has some serious range. They make beautiful and compelling doc-style work, their comedy is laugh-out-loud funny and smart, and everything else they point their lenses at is just straight-up great.”
Prior to joining Greenpoint, Ghost + Cow was represented by production house Alldayeveryday.
