Content creation studio BODEGA, with bases of operation in NY, L.A. and San Francisco, has signed the directing duo Bright Black, consisting of Austin Rhodes and Ivan Landau, for U.S. representation spanning commercials, branded content and music videos.
Bright Black’s work features a range of captivating cinematography, insane graphics, visual effects and animation anchored around the strength of the central story and message. Bright Black has turned out content for such brands as Nike, Apple, Vans, Beats by Dre, and HP. Prior to joining BODEGA, Bright Black was most recently at production house Object & Animal.
In a joint statement, the duo shared, “We’re about unlocking the potential of everyone we work with. We get people excited to tell their stories and allow them to be authentic, honest, and wholly themselves. And it seems to us that these days, that’s what everyone is craving, authenticity. We’re mindful of and actively support inclusivity in the stories we share and the people we work with, from main talent and the brand to the crew itself. We believe in the limitlessness of art and culture to make the world better and we strive to pull our resources and paint our pictures with the largest palette possible.”
BODEGA executive producer Mark Kovacs said, “Ivan and Austin are a multi-talented force whose prime time has come, and we’re excited to partner with them.”
The Many Hires Jeremiah Wassom As Group Creative Director
Independent agency The Many has added Jeremiah Wassom as group creative director.
Wassom most recently worked a decade at Deutsch LA where, as SVP/creative director, he led the Taco Bell account and won new business for the agency. He also served eight years with the United States Marine Corps.
“Throughout his career, Jeremiah has helmed work that has not only made me personally jealous but has consistently pushed brands to show up in memorable and innovative ways,” said Josh Paialii, head of creative at The Many. “One look at his body of work and you will see his passion for storytelling and craft has raised the bar for entire categories, driving participation with many brands’ most loyal fans. Beyond being a world-class creative director and maker, Wassom is a proven team player and strategic thought leader. He’ll be a great addition to the leadership team at The Many working across all accounts. His role will be immediately felt as he guides and supports each of the creative leads in the department.”
A 20-year creative with agency, brand, and freelance experience, Wassom has forged a creative approach which focuses on crafting engaging connections rather than simply make ads. He sees the need for advertising to mean more, not simply do more.
