Bicoastal production house m ss ng p eces has added Director X to its roster for commercials, branded content, music videos and other projects. M ss ng p eces handles him in the U.S. while offering support in other territories, including music videos coming from the U.K. market. He had formerly been repped in the U.S. by Hound. Director X is a partner in and represented in Canada by production house pop rokk.
Originally from Toronto, Director X (formerly known as Little X) began his career as a protégé of pioneering hip hop director Hype Williams. X went on to direct music videos for artists including Drake, Rihanna, Jay Z, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Usher, John Mayer, Korn, Fifth Harmony, and Kendrick Lamar. He recently was awarded such honors as a 2016 MTV Music Video Award, Best Hip-Hop Video, 2016 BET Award, Director of the Year and 2016 iHeart MMVA, Best Director for Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and 2016 MTV Music Video Award, Best Collaboration for Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home.” X recently showcased his interest in digital arts working with the city of Toronto, alongside filmmaker Floria Sigismondi, on an immersive experience that chronicles the slow Death of the Sun for Nuit Blanche.
