Director Peter Care, whose ground-breaking music video work spawned a successful career as a commercialmaker, has joined the U.S roster of Green Dot Films.
U.K. born, Care began his career helming music clips including pioneering work for R.E.M., Depeche Mode, Bruce Springsteen and Cabaret Voltaire. For the latter, he directed “Sensoria” which was one of the first three music videos to be procured for the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. One of the highlights of his early career was meeting his wife, Lorraine, on-set and they’ve been working together ever since. For his work in music videos, Care received MTV’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. He received an Independent Spirit award for his first feature, “The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys”.
Care’s commercial directing career took off at the former Satellite Films, the sister company to Propaganda. He eventually moved to Bob Industries and most recently Wondros before joining Green Dot. He’s directed work for Levi’s, Coca-Cola, Verizon, AT&T, Chevy, Domino’s, Chase, Toyota, Sprint, Walgreens and OnStar, among others, collaborating with such agencies as Wieden+Kennedy, Fallon, Arnold, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, CP+B, Grey, Leo Burnett, GSD&M, Deutsch, BBDO, and Publicis & Hal Riney.
Care joins a Green Dot directorial lineup that includes Rebecca Baehler, Mark Coppos, Richard Farmer (formerly of the directing team HAPPY), Rafael Fernandez, Jeff Feuerzeig, Kim Jacobs, Robert Jitzmark, David Mandel, Luc Schurgers, Brent Thomas and Claire Thomas.
