Smuggler has signed director Nima Nourizadeh for worldwide commercial representation. Nourizadeh is the filmmaker behind award-winning music videos for artists such as Hot Chip, Lily Allen, Santigold, Chromeo, and Mark Ronson, as well as the international hit feature film Project X, which was nominated for three MTV Movie Awards, and the 2015 action comedy film American Ultra starring Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg.
Nourizadeh’s “House Party” commercial for adidas arguably defined a genre, while bringing him festival awards (including a Cannes Lion) and acclaim. Recent commercial work includes the high-octane campaign “The Race” for bwin out of BBH London.
“Nima is a class act and has been a good friend of Brian [Smuggler co-founder/managing partner/exec producer Carmody] and mine for years,” said Smuggler co-founder/managing partner/EP Patrick Milling-Smith. “We’ve been keen to represent Nima at Smuggler since his early video work and are delighted the opportunity has finally come. Nima has a wealth of experience, his work is always fresh and everything he touches feels relevant, original, and exciting. Nima has created pop culture classics across all mediums from music videos, to commercials, and movies. He’s a special talent with an enthusiasm, ambition, and experience that is rare while he’s also arguably only at the beginning of the journey.”
Prior to joining Smuggler, Nourizadeh was repped worldwide by Iconoclast for spots and branded content.
