Live action production company Strange Loop Studios has added Los Angeles-based documentary and lifestyle writer/director Marta Chierego to its roster for her first official exclusive U.S. commercial representation.
Chierego’s journey as a storyteller spans from working with a client roster that includes Netflix, Meta, Google, CDC, Diageo, On-Star and more, to pulling back the curtain on the complex realms of AI and online privacy.
Her upcoming documentary, Your Web Reimagined, slated for major streaming debut later this year, sheds a timely light on the urgency of taking charge of our digital identities. Through the voices of some of the leading pioneers in the field, the film delves into the multi-layered world of cryptography and decentralized web technologies that could revolutionize the internet by placing our individual privacy and security at the center of the equation and addressing the rising concerns over fake media exacerbated by the evolution of generative AI.
Where there’s a story to tell, questions to challenge, or answers to unearth, Chierego is at the ready to bring light with creativity and charm, rooted in the belief that at the heart of every brand lies an authentic and universal human connection.
“Working with a boutique studio was definitely a priority when considering representation,” said Chierego. “For me, it’s important to collaborate with partners who have a unique and curated approach to developing work and Strange Loop felt like the perfect fit to grow and evolve together. I am truly excited for what’s to come.”
A master polyglot, Chierego has helmed sets in her mother tongues of English and Italian, as well as Spanish and French.
“When I was first introduced to Marta’s work, I was instantly taken by the passion and drive for filmmaking that emanated from its creator,” said Strange Loop EP Luca Valente. “Meeting Marta affirmed my intuition.”
Valente added, “The love of the craft and the commitment to represent human interest stories are poured into everything Marta does. Our first campaign together, which involved filming in three continents, enforced the reality of her resilience and prowess to seamlessly invigorate production and drive the creative above and beyond the finish line.”
Over the years, Chierego’s work has led her to interview world experts such as World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, former Vice President Al Gore, digital cash inventor David Chaum, former head of NASA Dana Newman, singer Peter Gabriel, actor Ken Watanabe, and General Motors CEO Mary Barra, among others.
