Click 3X has brought director Hayley Morris aboard its talent roster. Formerly repped by th1ng (“thing one”), Morris brings to Click 3X a focus on traditional animation techniques to inventively tell stories that unfold through layered textures and hand-crafted details.
Camille Geier, executive producer at Click 3X, said of Morris, “She adds a unique passion for traditional animation, a technique that combines ‘old’ and ‘new’ for modernized, vintage feel.”
Morris, who gained inclusion into SHOOT’s 2011 New Directors Showcase, has turned out work that’s been shown at La Gaรฎtรฉ Lyrique’s “Motion Factory” exhibit in Paris, which showcased 15 directors from around the world who create hand-made films in a digital age. She has also directed commercials for clients such as Samsung, HP, Burt’s Bees, HumanaOne, Kate Spade, The Detroit Zoo, and Paragard. In addition, Morris has a passion for making music videos and has created animated worlds for Iron & Wine, Grammy Award winning violinist Hilary Hahn, and pianist Hauschka, among others.
“Click 3X has the resources and tools to bring creative visions to life. By weaving in traditional animation techniques to their already holistic offerings, I’m excited to bring those inventive concepts to the next level,” said Morris.
Morris’s work has been featured in film festivals and museums around the world. Her short film Undone won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Animated Short at Slamdance in 2009. Hayley also teaches stop-motion animation at the Rhode Island School of Design.
