Raucous Content has added director/DP Gregory Mitnick to its talent roster.
Known for his signature docu-style that blends raw emotion with playful charm, Mitnick was formerly half of the directing duo Peking (with Nat Livingston Johnson). As part of Peking, Mitnick had most recently been repped by production house Hey Wonderful.
With an MFA in Film Production from NYU, Mitnick has directed over 100 short-form docs for influential platforms. For example, he individually directed videos featured on The New York Times and The Atlantic platforms. These endeavors set the stage for his commercial filmmaking career.
Mitnick’s work as a member of the Peking duo included the Skype film “Born Friends,” which earned a Silver Cannes Lions and a spot in Time magazine’s top five commercials of the year. Mitnick’s directorial credits via Peking also span such brands as Apple, Google, Disney and Boppy.
Raucous Content founder/EP Steve Wi said of Mitnick, “His distinctive voice and unparalleled skill in blending genuine emotion with engaging storytelling make him a perfect fit for our roster.”
Mitnick’s versatility shines in recent Peking campaigns for Care.com (via agency Hubbub), and the heartwarming, drone-forward film “Sky’s the Limit” with Amazon/Illumination. Also among Mitnick’s latest endeavors is Texas-based Favor’s epic “Texpat Rescue Mission” (for agency Preacher) which he solo directed.
“Directing docu-style spots is the greatest pleasure, because no matter how much I prepare or plan, it’s the surprises that I’m truly after–all the non-scripted twists, the wild outbursts, the knowing glances. It’s the rich, raw emotion of real life and relationships that make this genre so impactful for brands. We immerse ourselves in the lives of others, and we share new perspectives with huge audiences. Let’s get it!” shared Mitnick. “I’m feeling blessed to join Steve and Raucous’ amazing roster, and I’m excited to continue to evolve the craft alongside talented friends and collaborators.”
Beyond traditional advertising, Mitnick has significantly contributed to political and social campaigns including such Peking fare as the Cannes Lions-shortlisted Doritos “No Choice” spot and the “Wake Up And Vote” ad for the Biden/Harris campaign. Long-form films include A Day at the Speedway (2023) helmed by Peking and the Mitnick-directed 10 Dollar Toilet Seat (2024), which began its festival run at the 42nd Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival.
