Production studio HOUND has added director Caroline Lindy to its roster for U.S. representation spanning commercials and branded content. Her writing and directing ranges from short and feature-length films to web series, spots and music videos. She had most recently been freelancing as a director in the advertising market.
Lindy’s latest short, the romantic comedy Aspirational Slut, recently garnered attention around the world, forming part of official selections at numerous festivals and receiving SXSW’s 2022 Audience Award for Narrative Shorts as well as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
Following a grant from Women in Film, Lindy also wrote and directed the dark comedy Your Monster, a short tackling an array of genres from romantic comedy to horror, with poignant snapshots of female rage sprinkled throughout. With a cast that features Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is The New Black), Tommy Dewey (Casual), and Scott Michael Foster (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), the film has many supporters including Blumhouse Productions. The short is being developed into a feature film and is set to shoot this upcoming fall 2022. In 2023, Lindy will also be directing a movie starring Pauline Chalamet, produced by Tanbark Pictures.
In the commercial world, Lindy has delivered spots for clients such as date ideas app Mystery, hybrid working tool Loom, and authentication platform Auth0. Reflecting her work in longer formats, Lindy’s signature comedic touch is prominent in her advertising projects.
Jamie Miller, EP and partner at HOUND, shared, “We’ve been on the hunt for the right comedy dialogue director for a while now and Caroline has mastered the perfect blend of smart humor with humanity, told in a style that feels very contemporary. We were excited when we first saw her work and that enthusiasm has only grown as we’ve gotten to know her as a person.”
Lindy added, “HOUND is a company that produces high quality content by allowing a director to flex their artistic voice and muscle, something I seek and greatly appreciate in creative partnerships. I am so excited about the future projects that HOUND and I will create together, and I’m particularly looking forward to continuing to develop my voice as a director, especially in the comedic commercial world.”
