Anderson Wright, a filmmaker who creates content for brands and global agencies, athletes and artists, has joined the directorial lineup at Bullitt for commercials and branded content in the U.S. His short documentary NZINGHA, featuring Olympic fencer Nzingha Prescod, won a Clio and a place on the shortlist at Cannes’ Young Director Awards, and was published by National Geographic and The Atlantic.
Other noted projects include a spot for the app Duet Display, which has been seen over 18 million times online, and Where We Dwell which was licensed by Snapchat and released on its Discover platform during the 2015 Super Bowl. Anderson has also directed engaging and original projects for Chevrolet, Mercedes, Bose and the Vimeo Staff Pick. Every Night Is Emo Nite.
Wright did his branded work independently and then via Workhouse Creative prior to now coming aboard the Bullitt roster.
His career began on a plane flight during a fateful talk with a Hollywood producer, Lynda Obst. She had gone to Pomona College and at the time Wright was a freshman there. That common bond helped spark a conversation which led to an internship with Obst, providing a great intro to the film business.
While learning about the feature film and studio process, Wright became increasingly fascinated by the power of short-form storytelling, which he pursued with passion following his graduation from college. Cinematic visual style and thoughtful portraits of human experience are hallmarks of Anderson’s approach.
Bullitt EP Luke Ricci described Wright as “an incredible and unique talent,” fitting into a roster of company filmmakers who work in entertainment and branded projects and experiences.
