Director Graeme Joyce, formerly of Untitled, a Santa Monica shop he’s been with since its inception in 2002, has joined bicoastal HSI Productions for exclusive U.S. representation.
Hailing from the small U.K. town of Cotswolds, Joyce, who studied painting, made his way stateside. He started out as a production assistant and moved up the industry ladder, initially joining the directors’ roster of now defunct The End.
Joyce began helming music videos and later in his career diversified into commercials. Following the closure of The End in ’01, he came aboard Extension Films, a division of the since closed Propaganda Films, which was a spawning ground for directorial talent. He directed clips and spots via Extension, which started out as a music video house and then moved into commercialmaking.
Perhaps best known for his visual sensibilities and prowess in storytelling, Joyce became firmly established in the ad arena at Untitled. Among his credits there were spots for such clients as Mercedes-Benz, British Airways and Target.
