As part of further steps in strengthening its position, McCann Worldgroup announced that Devika Bulchandani has been named president of McCann New York.
Bulchandani, who recently served as managing director of McCann New York, has held various leadership roles in the New York office, including as managing director of global strategy. She has also served as president of McCann XBC. She will report to Chris Macdonald.
Macdonald will now lead all Worldgroup North American advertising agencies and be responsible for driving partnering and integration initiatives with other Worldgroup units across the region. He first joined McCann London in 2005, where he was promoted to CEO. In 2013, he became president of McCann New York and was promoted in 2016 to president of McCann North America. In his North American role, he will report to Luca Lindner, president of McCann Worldgroup.
Additionally, Suzanne Powers has been named global chief strategy officer of McCann Worldgroup, expanding her role with additional responsibilities to integrate all strategic competencies across Worldgroup units. Powers, who first joined in 2013 as global chief strategy officer of the McCann worldwide agency network, was recognized by She Runs It (Advertising Women of New York) in 2016 with its “Changing the Game” award as one of the industry’s “true catalysts of innovation.”
Harris Diamond, chairman and CEO of McCann Worldgroup, said, “These promotions and expanded role responsibilities recognize the track record and abilities of these people and are focused on helping our clients take advantage of the multiplatform marketing world that now exists.
Diamond continued: “Devika has been instrumental in helping lead the New York office by ensuring that our clients are able to take advantage of the complexities of the marketing ecosystem today and, along with Chris Macdonald, by building a diverse and creative culture in the office.”
Of Macdonald, Diamond said, “Chris has done a terrific job regionally and in New York in building our client relationships and our multiplatform capabilities to develop solutions for the challenges facing our clients and their brands. He will expand his remit and look for ways to create opportunities across all of our agencies to grow and better serve our clients.
“Suzanne plays a pivotal role across the network. She has ensured that our clients can take advantage of our strategic capabilities across all markets, which has led to brand growth as well as greater recognition for the effectiveness of our work. Recognized as one of the industry’s leading strategic innovators, she will expand her role across all of Worldgroup’s competencies to help drive further growth opportunities.”
