THE SPOTS
"Singer" (:30) features a man driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant while moving his lips and bouncing around, as if singing along to music from the car’s stereo or radio. As he comes to a red light, he stops and the scene shifts to the inside of the Galant, where it is revealed that he is actually repeating a grocery list: "Pound of turkey, toothpaste, diapers—the big pack." The ad closes with the voiceover stating, "Still starting under eighteen grand … more to feel good about." In "Wave," a Galant is greeted by a series of people that wave to the car as it winds through the neighborhood. As the car rounds a corner, viewers discover that a young boy smiling from his car seat in the rear of the Galant is waving enthusiastically to the people. "Singer" uses Radio 4’s "Dance to the Underground" as the musical track, while "Wave" features "Do You Realize?" by The Flaming Lips.
