Wieden+Kennedy NY has hired David Kolbusz as executive creative director. He will join the agency this summer and fill one of the office’s two top creative leadership roles vacated late last year by Ian Reichenthal and Scott Vitrone who moved over to Barton F. Graf 9000 as partners/exec creative directors.
W+K has yet to determine who will partner with Kolbusz as co-executive creative director, rounding out the New York management team alongside Neal Arthur, managing director.
W+K welcomes Kolbusz from Bartle Bogle Hegarty in London, where he currently serves as deputy executive creative director and partner. Over the past three-and-a-half years he has played a leading creative role in some of the shop’s most lauded work, including “Three Little Pigs” for The Guardian, and the “Apollo” and “Peace” campaigns for Axe Unilever.
Before BBH, he was a group creative director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, working on brands including Denny’s, Häagen Dazs and Logitech. He previously worked at Mother, most notably on the Orange mobile account. A native Canadian, Kolbusz began his career at TBWAToronto.
W+K New York’s roster of clients includes ESPN, Delta Air Lines, Heineken, Brown-Forman’s Southern Comfort, Brand Jordan, Nike, ABC, and its most recent addition, Gap.
