THE SPOT
"Galley" (:45/:30) continues GE’s "Imagination at Work" corporate image campaign and touts the company’s breakthroughs in wind energy. The commercial shows barbarians in a primitive rowing vessel. Suddenly the sound of steel drum music is heard and another boat of primitives—who are partying because their boat is powered by wind—sails by. The voiceover states, "Imagine what a pleasant surprise it must have been when man first harnessed the power of wind." The ad ends with a barbarian water skier being pulled by the wind-powered vessel, and the super, "GE: Imagination at work."
