A motorcycle cop has stopped a flashy red sports car. As he sternly approaches the two-seat convertible, he spies the personalized California license plate, which reads "GIDDY-UP."
Sitting in the driver and passenger seats, respectively, are horse-race jockeys Chris McCarron and Alex Solis, each dressed in his vibrant racing colors.
"Driver’s license and registration, please, sir," demands the cop of the anxious McCarron. "You were driving like a madman out there. What were you thinking?"
Still concentrating on the highway ahead, McCarron answers in a rush of words: "This little blue sports car was comin’ up on the rail; I had to drop back a couple lengths; he’s gonna end up taking the lead on the backstretch; I’m supposed to stay in front!"
Solis underscores the urgency of the situation. "Caramba, officer," contends the passenger jockey, "he’s just trying to maintain his position."
"You’ve gotta be kidding me," responds the stern-faced cop.
"No sir. He’s getting away," warns McCarron.
"He’s getting away!" echoes Solis.
As the cop’s attention is diverted for a fleeting instant, the car starts to move forward.
"Hey, guys, hold on! Wait a minute!" shouts the cop.
Cut to the client’s logo as a voiceover relates the supered message: "Must be Del Mar season."
Finally, horses race across the screen in footage shot where the surf meets the turf: the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, located on the outskirts of San Diego. Stand by for the next post time.
