For their work on “Conclave,” “Nosferatu” and “Wicked,” respectively, costume designers Lisy Christl, CDG, Linda Muir and Paul Tazwell, CDG topped the feature categories at the 27th Costume Designers Guild Awards ceremony on Thursday night (2/6) in Los Angeles.
“Conclave” won for Costume Design Excellence in Contemporary Film, “Nosferatu” for Excellence in Period Film, and “Wicked” for Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film.
On the TV side, “Shōgun” won two awards–for outstanding costume design in Period Television (Carlos Rosario, CDG), and Excellence in Costume Illustration (James Holland, CDG).
Special honors went to: Jenny Beavan, CDG for Career Achievement; Salvador Perez for Distinguished Service; Zoe Saldaña won the Spotlight Award; and Janelle Monáe was the Vanguard Spotlight Award honoree. (Life Achievement honoree Beavan was also nominated in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film category for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga).
