Golden LA has added Tim K to its roster of directorial talent.
Tim K was a part of the initial lineup of directors at Gifted Youth, Funny or Die’s commercial division, bringing his deep roots in the improvisational comedy community to the start of his branded filmmaking career. His sharp sense of humor lends itself to captivating camera work, interesting visual jokes, and witty dialogue. Carrying over from his improv comedy roots, Tim K firmly believes in the power of collaboration and an aligned creative team coming together to elevate the game and deliver top-tier work. Prior to joining Golden LA, Tim K had most recently been repped by Bob Industries.
Tim K has directed ad campaigns for brands including State Farm, Taylormade, Toyota, Hefty, Campbell’s Soup, M&M’s, Subaru, Miller Lite, Pepsi, Jack in the Box, Verizon, and Walmart x Star Wars: Rogue One. He helmed numerous campaigns featuring celebrity talent like Elizabeth Olsen, Kevin Hart, Adam Devine, Bill Nye, and Danny Trejo, as well as professional athletes, including Aaron Rodgers, Tiger Woods, and Kyrie Irving.
Additionally, he directed the Adult Swim pilot for the sketch comedy series, Ole Bud’s ANU Football Weekly and every episode of Scroll Wheel of Time, wherein an amateur rap duo gains the power of time travel with the help of a first-gen iPod. Tim K also directed numerous short films, including Hang Loose, which is currently touring the film festival circuit.
“All my years of commercial directing experience have brought me to these GOLDEN shores, and I’m so excited to continue my creative adventure with such an epic group of hustlers and artisans who can propel me into the next phase of my career.”
Matthew Marquis, director and executive producer at Golden LA, added, “I have followed Tim’s career since the inception of Gifted Youth, and the trajectory goes without saying. I’m also very excited that within days of our partnership, we jumped into an extremely compelling project with Snap. More to come there very soon!”
SCHROM x Yacht Club and Be Electric Studios Launch Electric XR for Virtual Production
SCHROM x Yacht Club, a full-service live-action, tabletop, and postproduction company, has teamed with Be Electric Studios, a soundstage, equipment rental, and virtual production company, to launch Electric XR, a virtual production collective.
Industry veteran Thomas Rossano will lead the new venture, which provides advanced virtual production solutions across multiple facilities. Rossano’s expertise spans producing live-action commercials, branded content, interactive and experiential content. In addition to leading Electric XR, he holds responsibilities at SCHROM x Yacht Club which include driving business development, collaborating with sales reps and expanding the company’s creative talent network. Rossano’s career includes serving as an exec producer at Hungry Man for about 11 years, right from that company’s inception. He then went on to become a partner at Station Film where he also had a lengthy tenure. Later he was a partner at PRISM. Then after the pandemic hit, he became a freelance EP for nearly two years, looking into opportunities in virtual production, which led him to XR NY and now Electric XR.
