Post house Company 3, a Deluxe Creative Services company, has hired Claire McGrane to lead its London facility. In doing so, she also joins the senior global management team for the Company 3 group.
Involved in the digital intermediate process since its infancy in 2000, McGrane was the DI producer on the lauded Cold Mountain, one of the first shows in London to go through the DI process. Her success in DI was recognized in 2003 when she moved to Framestore, where she was tasked with developing their DI offerings and expanding the team. The subsequent three years saw the business grow into an internationally recognized DI house, working on most of the leading features in the market at that time.
Stefan Sonnenfeld, president of Company 3, said of McGane, "It is rare to find the combination of technical and operational knowledge together with the empathy required to support the creative vision of the filmmaker. Claire brings a fresh approach to Company 3, which will see the London facility be more in tune with clients’ needs. Having someone so deeply embedded within the film and TV community in London is exciting for us. “
Sonnenfeld added, “Claire joins Joce Capper, Johnny Whitehead and Emma Philips, who run Rushes, Encore and Method respectively and form the senior management team responsible for our creative output in London. I’m confident that Claire’s influence will be felt not just in London but across the entire global Creative group.”
For the past three years McGrane has worked as a freelance postproduction supervisor in the U.K. on features and television, most recently on the soon to be released feature, Miss Julie.
"The range of projects completed here is inspirational and I believe Company 3 is unique in its ability to attract a blend of studio and independent films from across Europe and the U,S.,” said McGrane, adding, “It is exciting to have access to a world-class team of international colorists based both here and in the US,” she adds. “It’s not every day that you can offer London-based colorists the opportunity to work on US features and vice versa. This level of flexibility is what sets Company 3 apart and I’m excited to introduce a fresh and more collaborative approach to what is already the leading DI facility in London. Having worked in facilities for 16 years, and then more recently experiencing their work as a client, I have a clear vision of the process from both sides. I believe this insight will help me deliver an exceptional level of customer services to the clients that use Company 3.”
SCHROM x Yacht Club and Be Electric Studios Launch Electric XR for Virtual Production
SCHROM x Yacht Club, a full-service live-action, tabletop, and postproduction company, has teamed with Be Electric Studios, a soundstage, equipment rental, and virtual production company, to launch Electric XR, a virtual production collective.
Industry veteran Thomas Rossano will lead the new venture, which provides advanced virtual production solutions across multiple facilities. He brings over 25 years of experience in live-action, tabletop, postproduction and talent curation to enhance Electric XR’s offerings as a resource for brands and agencies, as well as other production companies in need of virtual production solutions. Additionally Rossano continues to serve as EP at XR New York (XR-NY), a role he’s held since December 2022. SCHROM x Yacht Club originally established XR-NY to help provide XR services for third-party rentals. While XR-NY will continue to function independently for SCHROM X Yacht Club, it now operates under the Electric XR umbrella.
Rossano’s expertise spans producing live-action commercials, branded content, interactive and experiential content. In addition to leading Electric XR, he holds responsibilities at SCHROM x Yacht Club which include driving business development, collaborating with sales reps and expanding the company’s creative talent network. Rossano’s career includes serving as an exec producer at Hungry Man for about 11 years, right from that company’s inception. He then went on to become a partner at Station Film where he also had a lengthy tenure. Later he was a partner at PRISM. Then after the pandemic hit, he became a freelance EP for nearly two years, looking into opportunities in virtual production, which led him to XR NY and now Electric XR. Over the years, he has produced high-profile... Read More
