Director/DP Duncan M. Sullivan has joined the roster of creative production studio Cause + Effect. This marks his first formal production house roost for commercial and branded content representation. Previously he had been freelancing for varied companies. Among his freelance directing gigs was one at Cause + Effect which yielded Brothers of Climbing, a short film sponsored by REI, which explores the lack of diversity in the sport.
Brothers of Climbing was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and has been viewed in excess of 2.4 million times. Sullivan has helmed work for clients in the retail, music, and narrative documentary spaces, including REI, Vice, Stella Artois, IFC and Weight Watchers.
Now at Cause + Effect, Sullivan will focus on developing and directing narrative and docu-style commercial and branded content projects for the production house’s range of clients.
Jason Zemlicka, EP/principal at Cause + Effect, said, “Duncan has an amazing ability to translate a story from concept to completion. As a DP, he’s always searching for shots from alternative perspectives, and the same can be said about his ideation and direction.”
