So much has been written about TV/Web convergence, but this week’s iSPOT provides details on how other media are converging with the Web in the broadband arena. We travel to Indianapolis, where an Emmis radio station is playing video on its website, and to London, where Dennis Publishing has launched a digital magazine enriched with video. Both ventures are supported by video advertising.
After reading these articles you might ask whether radio will continue to be an aural medium and whether magazines will be paper-based. And you will realize how all media are relying on video content and the advertising revenue that can be derived from it.
This week’s iChat features an interesting conversation with Andy Sheldon, Visible World’s vice president broadband & wireless that focuses on the company’s new broadband unit, which will enable advertisers to deliver targeted versions of broadband video ads to consumer groups. The company had formally specialized in delivering TV ads, so this is another big step forward for broadband video advertising.
Please step forward and provide us with the latest news on your companies. Thanks for reading!
